Harmonix has been appointed by Chancerygate to deliver a £ 6 million Storage King scheme at the former Southern Water site in Canterbury.

This is Harmonix’s first project with Storage King, Project Director Darren McQuibban said: “Harmonix construction is pleased to commence our first ‘storage king’ development. The project has various on-site constraints, which makes for interesting construction methodologies & logistical arrangements. The project has started well, and we look forward to developing this large singular storage unit both on time & to a high standard.”

It provides for building a new multi-storey storage unit with over 70,000 sqft of self-storage space, car parking, service yard, and landscaping on a self-contained site at Sturry Road, Canterbury.

It will target a BREEAM rating of ‘Excellent’ and we are closely working with SRE to create a lean reduction scenario to reduce the base emissions output to 112.57kg/CO2/year. The proposed development will deliver passive and active energy demand reduction measures along with low and zero-carbon technologies, to reduce energy demand and associated CO2 emissions resulting from its operation.

We are always trying to improve our sustainability records and we are requesting our contractors use sustainably sourced materials certified by the BES 6001 scheme wherever possible

Harmonix will continue monitoring our emissions in the supply chain to continue developing greener construction.

The scheme will commence on 10th October 2022 with completion due mid-November 2023.
